While California's mask mandate has been somewhat controversial and many people vowing to never wear it, one woman in Roseville, California, showed her feelings about wearing a mask when she took a stand and allegedly a leak on the floor of a Verizon store last week after she was asked to leave for refusing to wear a mask, officials said.
According to the Roseville Police Department, staff called 911 after a group of people entered the Verizon store and declined to wear a mask. The 911 dispatcher told the responding officers that the callers reported the female in the group had pulled down her pants and was urinating inside the business, CBS Sacramento reported.
“They’re calling back and advising that the female is pulling down her pants and is now urinating inside the business,” the operator said.
When officers arrived, the woman was arrested after they discovered several items that had been stolen from a nearby Dicks Sporting Goods in the woman's car.
"This is an extremely odd incident," Roseville Police Department Rob Baquera said in a statement. "Never before have I seen someone become so disgruntled while shopping they chose this course of action. In the end, this suspect’s actions helped lead to her ultimate arrest."
The suspect reportedly became so upset about being asked to wear a mask, she went to the corner of the store and allegedly urinated on the floor.
Verizon is requiring all customers to wear masks inside their stores, Verizon spokesperson Heidi Flato said. Flato told CBS 13 that the incident was about more than the store's mask policy, but did not elaborate on the details of the incident.
