FBI Confirms Link Between Crestline Murder and Shooting at Judge's NJ Home

The man suspected in the fatal shooting at a New Jersey judge's home that left her 20-year-old son dead and her husband wounded, has been linked to another shooting of an attorney in Crestline, the FBI confirmed Wednesday.

Roy Den Hollander, 72, was identified as the man who killed the son of U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas and wounded her husband. Hollander was discovered dead in his car from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Sullivan County, New York Monday. Judge Salas was in the basement at the time and was unharmed in the attack. Authorities believe she was Hollander's intended target.

Now, the FBI says Hollander is also a suspect in the death of another attorney, Mark Anglelucci, in Crestline two weeks ago. Details of Anglelucci's murder echo what happened Sunday at the New Jersey judge's home. Officials say a man dressed in a FedEx uniform and wearing a face mask knocked on Anglelucci's door and then opened fire. No FedEx truck was involved and the suspect used an ordinary car to get away.

"As the FBI continues the investigation into the attack at the home of US District Court Judge Esther Salas (District of New Jersey), we are now engaged with the San Bernardino California Sheriff's Office and have evidence linking the murder of Marc Angelucci to FBI Newark subject Roy Den Hollander," FBI Newark said in a statement. "This investigation is ongoing."

Authorities also believe Hollander may have been targeting another female judge after her name and photo was discovered in his car. An envelope addressed to Judge Salas was also inside the suspect's vehicle, however, authorities have remained mum on what was contained inside.

Hollander was an attorney who claimed to follow the men's rights movement, describing himself in postings online as an "anti-feminist."

Judge Salas is currently under 24-hour protection from the U.S. Marshals.
