LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose three-tenths of a cent today to $3.123, its highest amount since March 30.
The average price has risen 11 of the past 12 days, increasing 4.5 cents, including one-tenth of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 2.7 cents more than a week ago and 10 cents higher than one month ago but 65 cents less than one year ago. It has decreased 49.2 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price rose three-tenths of a cent to $3.103, one day after dropping one-tenth of a cent. It has risen 12 of the past 14 days, increasing 4.8 cents, to its highest amount since March 28.
The Orange County average price is 2.4 cents more than one week ago and 11.3 cents higher than one month ago but 62.3 cents less than one year ago. It has decreased 45.1 cents since the start of the year.
“Lower demand for gas and high supply are keeping gas prices relatively cheap for the summertime,'' Doug Shupe, a corporate communications & programs manager with the Automobile Club of Southern California, told City News Service.
“As motorists react to unfolding COVID-19 information, we are seeing driving behaviors related to filling-up ebb and flow.''
