Average L.A. Gas Price Unchanged

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County was unchanged today, remaining at $3.078, one day after rising a half-cent to its highest amount since April 1.

The average price has changed by two-tenths of a cent or less six of the past seven days, including Tuesday, when it was unchanged, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is six-tenths of a cent more than a week ago and 12.5 cents higher than a month ago but 71.2 cents less than one year ago. It has decreased 53.7 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price rose two-tenths of a cent to $3.058, one day after rising one-tenth of a cent.  It is one-tenth of a cent more than one week ago and 13.5 cents higher than one month ago but 68.9 cents less than one year ago. It has decreased 48.7 cents since the start of the year.

The stabilized pump prices are the result of dropping wholesale prices “reportedly on concerns about a demand slump due to the large jump in coronavirus cases locally,'' Marie Montgomery, a public relations specialist with the Automobile Club of Southern California, told City News Service.
