Little Change to Average Southland Gas Prices

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped one-tenth of a cent today, the second decrease in 21 days.

The average price rose 14 consecutive days, dropped one-tenth of a cent Tuesday, then resumed increasing Wednesday. It has risen 10.7 cents over the past 21 days, including nine-tenths of a cent on Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price of $2.982 is 2.8 cents more than a week ago and 15.3 cents higher than a month ago but 88.8 cents less than one year ago. It has decreased 63.3 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price rose one-tenth of a cent, the 32nd increase in 34 days. It has risen 18.1 cents over the past 34 days, including nine-tenths of a cent on Sunday.

The Orange County average price rose for 20 consecutive days, was unchanged May 26, rose each of the next five days, was unchanged last Monday and resumed rising the next day.

The Orange County average price of $2.951 is 2.9 cents more than one week ago and 17.2 cents higher than one month ago but 88.2 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped 59.4 cents since the start of the year.
