The United States' head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci, believes that the nation could return to some type of normality by this fall.

Fauci joined MSNBC host Brian Williams on Friday was asked whether or not voters should be able to vote by mail in the 2020 presidential election.

'I would hope that by November we would have things under such control that we could have a real degree of normality," Fauci explained, while also acknowledging this was not his area of expertise.

However this past week, the death toll in the United States surpassed Italy leaving the United States with the highest in the world.

The good news is that the death rate is still far higher in Italy than the U.S. The death is the number of dead relative to the general population. Italy's death is five times as many people. Something else to consider is that the true numbers of the dead and infected worldwide are probably much higher than what has been reported. This is due to test shortages, different counting practices, and possible concealment by some governments.

Metropolitan cities have suffered the most, especially New York City during this crisis.

'What do we do now? We stay the course,' said Andrw Cuomo, who like other leaders has warned that relaxing restrictions too soon could enable the virus to come back with a vengeance.
