#FeelGood Austin Seniors Get A Celebrity Virtual Bingo Host

We are all practing some form of social distancing during these days.

Senior living facilities across the are doing the same in a big way, because they've been especially succeptible to infection. That means, all the fun stuff they can usually do, gathering for meals, or for playing games like bingo, chess, cards, etc. isn't happening, and that's leaving residents pretty bored. The activity directors of these facilities have been working hard to try to find ways to keep residents connected, some have residents sitting at the doors of their rooms to do art or play a round of bingo together while still observing social distancing rules.

The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living Home in Austin took it a step further. They have been using Zoom video chat to allow residents to virtually get together to chat, read stories, dance and play bingo without risking anyone's health.

And this week, the residents received a special surprise when they showed up for bingo. Their virtual bingo host wasn't the activity director or other staff member, it was none other than actor Matthew McConaughey!

Like all of us, Matthew and his family are observing stay-at-home and social distancing orders, and he's been very vocal about encouraging others to do the same, so he's holed up with his family at his home in Texas. But he and his family decided to play bingo host to these seniors, and they were absolutely thrilled.

The Enclave was very thankful to Matthew and his family for spending time with their residents saying:

"Thank you to Matthew, his wife Camila, and his mom Kay for hosting our residents for a few rounds of virtual bingo! Our residents had a great time playing, and they loved talking with Matthew about his family heritage and his favorite drink."

Matthew has been posting encouraging videos to his Instagram page to help encourage people to observe social distancing and try to stem the anxiety people are feeling at this time by reminding people that we will get through it together. I think we can all agree, Matthew's a pretty cool guy.
