COVID-19 Fears Results In Suspension Of Trusted Travelers Program

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Due to the ongoing COVID-19 threat, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection says it will temporarily suspend operations starting today at its Trusted Traveler Program enrollment centers nationwide, including two locations in the Southland and one in San Diego.

The program's suspension will last until at least May 1, according to the CBP.

The Southland centers which will be closing are located at Los Angeles International Airport and the Long Beach Seaport. The San Diego location is at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office in Otay Mesa.

The temporary closures announced by CBP include all enrollment centers, NEXUS enrollment centers, SENTRI enrollment centers and FAST enrollment locations. Mobil enrollment events will also be postponed until further notice.

CBP's Enrollment on Arrival program, however, remains operational at this time. Conditionally approved Global Entry applicants will be able to complete the enrollment process when arriving on an international flight at any of the 60 airports that offer the program.
