LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today to its lowest amount since March 21, decreasing 1.3 cents to $3.466.
The average price has dropped 11 consecutive days and 14 of the past 15, decreasing 10.1 cents, including 1.5 cents on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 7.1 cents less than week ago and 9.7 cents lower than one month ago but 10.1 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped 14.9 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price also dropped to its lowest amount since March 21, decreasing 1.4 cents to $3.419. It has dropped 16 consecutive days, decreasing 10 cents, including 1.7 cents on Wednesday.
The Orange County average price is 7.4 cents less than one week ago and 8.9 cents lower than one month ago but 10.5 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped 12.6 cents since the start of the year.
Analysts have attributed the dropping prices to reduced demand and falling oil prices, both the result of the spread of the coronavirus.
