With just two weeks until the primary election here in California, President Trump is headed our way.
He'll stop in Bakersfield and Beverly Hills on Tuesday. Then, on Thursday, Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison will be hosting a campain fundraiser for the president at his estate on the Porcupine Creek private golf course in Rancho Mirage.
It's pretty pricey.....here's what you can get for TWO guests.
- To join a golf outing and take a photo with President Trump, you'll have to shell out $100,000
- To join a golf outing, take a photo with President Trump, AND be a participant in a 'round-table' discussion (of what we're not sure), you'll have to shell out $250,000
According to the Desert Sun:
"Contributions will go to "Trump Victory," a joint fundraising committee formed by the Trump campaign, the Republican National Committee and state GOP chapters. The large contributions will be distribted to Trump's primary and general election accounts, the RNC, state parties, and also go toward bankrolling the Republican National Convention."
Here's a fun fact. Back in 2016, he commented to then presidential candidate Herman Cain about the giant windmills along the 10 freeway on the drive to Palm Springs, saying, it made the area look like a junkyard, "It looks like the poor man's version of Disneyland. It's the worst thing you've ever seen."
After the event at Ellison's estate, the president will head to Phoenix for a campaign rally.
Ellison's fundraiser for Trump is seen as significant. Ellison supported Sen. Marco Rubio back in 2016 and as of the end of 2019, he had not personally contributed to Trump's re-election campaign or any PACs related to it.
Jonathan Ingram, Riverside County Republican Party Chair says the visit has big meaning for local Republicans, saying:
"It's showing that he understands that California actually matters in respect to being a Republican and a conservative."
California has just under 5 million registered Republicans and President Trump's approval rate in the state is about 31%. According to a Public Policy poll released in January, President Trump's reelection campaign raised $12.2 million from contributers in California in 2019, more than any other candidate.
