Southland Gas Prices Drop For Sixth Straight Day

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A six-day streak of decreases that caused the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County to drop to its lowest amount since Aug. 29 ended today when the price remained unchanged at $3.585.

The average price dropped 1.4 cents over the previous six days, including one-tenth of a cent Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 1.4 cents lower than one week ago and 1.8 cents less than one month ago but 29.6 cents more than one year ago.

A six-day streak of decreases in the Orange County average price totaling 1.7 cents ended with an increase of one-tenth of a cent to $3.53. It is 1.6 cents lower than one week ago and six-tenths of a cent less than one month ago but 25.1 cents higher than a year ago.
