Mike Bloomberg, current presidential candidate and former Mayor of New York is winding his way through California to drum up votes and he got a very special endorsement here in Los Angeles, from none other than former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
Villaraigosa announced his endorsement of Bloomberg at Teresitas Restaurant in East Los Angeles on Sunday, saying:
"Our country is facing challenging times without a true leader in the White House. Mike Bloomberg is the answer to solving the divisiveness Donald Trump has created, bridging the political divide in Washington, and helping to restore unity in this country once again."
According to the Bloomberg campaign, Villaraigosa will:
- serve as a national political co-chair
- advise the campaign on policy development and strategy
- serve as a national surrogate on behalf of the campaign
He's not the first California mayor endorsing Bloomberg, San Francisco Mayor London Breed and San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo have already endorsed Bloomberg.
However, current Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, aka Mayor Yoga Pants, has decided to endorse former Vice President Joe Biden.
