Owl Rescued and Treated for Obesity

After the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary rescued an owl in England, her rescuers assumed the reason she was having trouble flying was due to an injury or the fact that she was wet from being stuck in a ditch, according to BBC News

However, close observation of her behavior and a physical examination revealed a shocking discovery to her caretakers. Turns out this cute critter was perfectly fine, just extremely overweight, hence her flight troubles.

Consequently, the shelter staff helped her get back into shape by putting her on a special diet. The owl was released back into the wild with increased motor function on Monday.
