Furry Fight In San Jose Caught On Video

Just before midnight on Friday night, the streets of downtown San Jose were taken over by "furries". Now, if you're unfamiliar with what a furry is, go ahead and do a quick google image search. Enjoy.

Furry fandom, according to Wikipedia, is a "subculture interested in anthropomorphic animal characters with human personalities and characteristics."

FurCon was held in San Jose last weekend...

But things went sour later in the night after the convention.

“It was pretty intense,” Steven Rodriguez, a 26-year-old self-described 'silent observer' of furries said.

According to Rodriguez, a car slammed on its breaks in the middle of South Market Street. Then a woman started screaming "get out" from the car as she was seen being punched in the face by another passenger. Rodriguez said he and a friend yanked open the door and dragged the assaulter out of the car. And that's when the furries stepped in...

“It happened very, very fast and it was just a horrible thing to see,” Rodriguez said. “But overall, everyone was very happy that we stepped in.”

According to police, San Jose resident and 22-year-old Demetri Hardnett was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County jail on suspicion of domestic violence.
