That was a high school basketball announcer describing the death of their dog, Lucy. (I guess it wasn't clear that Lucy was a dog, was it? Whoops.)

Now, it's hard to tell if he started out with the intent of being funny, but as the exchange goes on you can tell that he really isn't that emotional about the situation anymore and he does an okay job of turning the sad story into an entertaining moment.
T was still pretty awkward, though.
