Motion Picture Academy Announces Oscar Nomination Shortlist in 9 Categories

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Oscar nominations won't be announced until next month, but the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released shortlists of potential nominees in nine categories today.

The shortlists will be winnowed by individual Academy branches to determine the nominees, which will be announced Jan. 13.
