Police Investigating After Suspect Grabs UCLA Student's Buttocks

WESTWOOD (CNS) - Police today were investigating a sexual battery involving a UCLA student who was accosted on campus.

The battery happened about 2:15 a.m. Tuesday near Covel Commons at 320 De Neve Drive, according to UCLA Police Department Lt. Kevin Kilgore.

“The victim was walking to her residence when the suspect approached her and touched her inappropriately,” Kilgore said. “The suspect got into a silver four-door sedan and fled southbound on Young Drive West towards Strathmore Plaza.”

A campus crime alert indicated the suspect grabbed the victim's buttocks.

The battery is not believed to have any connection to the Nov. 27 assault of a security guard in a parking structure on a different part of the campus, Kilgore said.

The suspect, who had no shirt on, was described as a 23- to 28-year- old light-skinned black man with a thin build and short black, braided hair. He was wearing khaki or gray pants and had tattoos around his torso.

Anyone with information about the attack or the suspect was asked to call the UCLA Police Department Detective Unit at 310-825-1491.
