Suspect, Officer Hospitalized After Possible OIS In Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - An apparent officer-involved shooting today has sent two people to the hospital, including a Los Angeles police officer, and temporarily shut down traffic on Sunset Boulevard.

A person reportedly armed with a machete was injured in an officer- involved shooting at Sunset Boulevard and Las Palmas Avenue, according to ABC7.

Police would not confirm that report, but the Los Angeles Fire Department said paramedics sent to a nearby location at the 1400 block of North McCadden Place at 11:30 a.m. on an assault call took an LAPD officer to a hospital with a “non-life-threatening” injury.

Another person was taken to a hospital in unknown condition for treatment of a reported gunshot wound.

Sunset Boulevard was closed to traffic in the area of Highland Avenue.
