Tomorrow starts the beginning of the impeachment inquiry hearings, but new information on the white house whistleblower has just surfaced.
The Intelligence Community Inspector General just received a new complaint that alleges that the whistleblower may have violated federal law by indirectly soliciting more than $25 million from anonymous sources online.
Fox News was able to obtain the complaint that was filed anonymously last week and it shows that around 6,000 individuals sent gifts to the current intelligence official.
The infamously conservative network has reported that the GoFundMe has raised more than $227,000 to date.
Apparently the GoFundMe page was started by a former State Department official John Tye.
“A US intelligence officer who filed an urgent report of government misconduct needs your help. This brave individual took an oath to protect and defend our Constitution. We’re working with the whistleblower and launched a crowdfunding effort to support the whistleblower’s lawyers,” Tye wrote on the page.
When asked for comment on this GoFundMe, he did not respond.
We're now wondering how much this will affect the upcoming hearings at all. Does this make the whistleblower irrelevant?
