This week was anniversary of last year's Boeing 737 Max crash off the coast of Indonesia. This accident killed the 189 passengers and crew on board. Shortly after in March, another Boeing 737 Max crashed killing 157.
This has put Boeing in the middle of multiple lawsuits from the families of victims on board. Boeing is also facing criminal charges by the United States Justice Department.
Early today, Democratic and Republican senators condemned the CEO of Boeing, Dennis Muilenburg, after questioning the company on their actions surrounding their 737 Max jets.
One lawmaker even referred to them as "flying coffins."
Muilenburg is expected to testify tomorrow, but what he said today is already turning heads.
When asked by Sen. Roger Wicker about the IM message from former Boeing technical pilot, Mark Forkner, about the "Jedi mind tricking regulators," Muilenburg had no real response.
“I’m not sure what he meant by that. We haven’t been able to talk to him. He doesn’t work for Boeing anymore. We’ve been trying to contact him,” Muilenburg said.
His response further proved to senators that he really had no idea what he was doing.
