Average L.A. County Gas Price Drops For 21st Time in 22 Days

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 21th time in 22 days, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $4.071, its lowest amount since Sept. 28.

The average price has decreased 18.7 cents over the past 22 days, including a half-cent Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The decreases follow a 21-day streak of increases totaling 58.6 cents that pushed it to its highest amount since July 21, 2015.

The average price is 8.8 cents less than one week ago and 1.7 cents lower than one month ago but 22.1 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 68 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 21th time in 24 days, decreasing eight-tenths of a cent to $4.027, its lowest amount since Sept. 28. It has decreased 19.6 cents over the past 24 days, including a half-cent Monday, after rising to its highest amount since July 22, 2015.

The Orange County average price is 9.1 cents less than a week ago and 4.1 cents lower than a month ago but 23.1 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 67.8 cents since the start of the year.
