Average L.A. County Gas Price Drops For Ninth Time in 10 Days

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the ninth time in 10 days, falling seven-tenths of a cent to $4.216, one day after decreasing three- tenths of a cent.

The average price has decreased 4.2 cents over the past 10 days, following a 21-day streak of increases totaling 58.6 cents that pushed it to its highest amount since July 21, 2015, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 3.1 cents less than one week ago, but 52.3 cents more than one month ago and 34.2 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 82.5 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped for the ninth time in 12 days, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $4.177. It has declined 4.6 cents over the past 12 days, after rising to its highest amount since July 22, 2015.

The Orange County price is 3.7 cents less than a week ago, but 52.5 cents more than a month ago and 35.6 cents higher than this day one year ago.

It has risen 82.8 cents since the start of the year.
