`Joker' Continues to Dominate Theaters

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - ``Joker'' maintained its position atop the North American box office over the weekend, besting a pair of debut films, according to final figures released today.

``Joker'' earned $55.9 million between Friday and Sunday to finish first at theaters, according to box office tracker Comscore. In its two weeks of release, ``Joker'' has collected nearly $193.6 million in North America alone.

A much more family oriented film -- an animated reboot of ``The Addams Family'' -- opened in second place with $30.3 million. The Will Smith clone thriller ``Gemini Man'' debuted in third place with $20.6 million.

Another animated film, ``Abominable,'' placed fourth with $6.1 million, followed by ``Downton Abbey'' with $4.9 million.

Rounding out the top 10 films of the weekend were ``Hustlers'' ($3.9 million); ``Judy'' ($3.2 million); ``IT Chapter Two'' ($3.13 million); ``Jexi'' ($3.1 million); and ``Ad Astra'' ($1.9 million).
