PORTER RANCH (CNS) - The Los Angeles Police Department asked for the public's patience today in waiting to be escorted to their residences from the following locations:
-- the Porter Ranch Town Center;
-- the Target store at the northwest corner of Balboa and San Fernando Mission boulevards; and
-- the Sylmar Recreation Center.
Escorts will be in effect throughout the night until further notice.
A shelter for displaced residents is available at Lanark Park in Canoga Park, which has 36 beds.
City officials are working to identify additional shelter locations.
