Police Seek Man, Woman Who Burglarized Hollywood Hills Home

HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - Police today released security video of a man and woman who burglarized a Hollywood Hills house where a senior citizen was sleeping, taking a handgun and other items.

The so-called hot prowl burglary occurred last Friday morning in the 1800 block of North Crescent Hills Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The suspects pulled into the home's driveway in a dark-colored, late- model BMW about 5:30 a.m. The male suspect then approached the front door carrying bolt cutters, which he used to remove a lock box containing a key to the residence from the door knob, police said.

The man fled with the lock box, then returned an hour later and used the key to enter the home.

``The suspect was inside for approximately two minutes and removed a telescope, cell phone and a handgun,'' according to a police statement. ``The female suspect also entered the home but did not appear to take anything. The elderly victim was home and sleeping during the entire incident. Detectives believe the suspects have some familiarity with the residence or the victim.''

The man was described as white, about 30 years old with a heavy build and wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and white shoes.

The woman was described as white, about 25 years old and wearing dark pants, a black jacket and black hat.

They were accompanied by a dog that appeared to be an Australian shepherd, police said.

Anyone with information that could help investigators identify and track down the suspects was urged to call LAPD Detective Patrick Aluotto at 213- 972-2929.

After hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 877-LAPD-24-7. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS or lacrimestoppers.org.
