Southland Temperatures To Revert to Normal Soon

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Temperatures will remain in the high 90s and low 100s today in some L.A. County communities today, but a cooling trend expected to usher in a return to seasonal temperatures will get underway Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS forecast a combination of sunny and partly cloudy skies in L.A. County and highs of 80 degrees in Avalon; 83 at LAX; 84 on Mount Wilson; 90 in Downtown L.A.; 92 in Long Beach and San Gabriel; 94 in Burbank; 98 in Saugus; 99 in Palmdale; and 100 in Woodland Hills and Lancaster. Temperatures will fall by as much as 6 degrees Saturday and, in some communities, another 6 degrees on Sunday.

Sunny skies were forecast in Orange County, along with highs of 79 on Santiago Peak; 80 in Newport Beach ... Laguna Beach and San Clemente; 87 on Ortega Highway at 2,600 feet; 92 in Fullerton and Yorba Linda; and 93 in Anaheim, Irvine, Mission Viejo and Fremont Canyon. Temperatures will fall by as much as 5 degrees Saturday. and, in some communities, another 5 on Sunday.
