LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today for the ninth consecutive day after dropping 26 times in 27 days to its lowest amount since March 25.
The average price rose four-tenths of a cent Thursday to $3.675, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has increased 10.7 cents over the past nine days, including six-tenths of a cent on Wednesday.
The average price is 10.2 cents more than one week ago and 1 cent higher than one year ago but eight-tenths of a cent less than one month ago.
The Orange County average price rose for the seventh consecutive day, increasing eight-tenths of a cent to $3.651. It has risen 10.2 cents over the past seven days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Wednesday.
The Orange County average price is 4.5 cents more than one year ago but two-tenths of a cent less than one month ago.
The increasing pump prices stem from Southern California refiners buying gasoline supply on the wholesale market last week, which drove wholesale prices up by about 30 cents, according to Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
