LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 14th consecutive day, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $3.604.
The average price has dropped 9.6 cents over the past 14 days, including 1.1 cents Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 6.5 cents less than one week ago, 16.9 cents lower than one month ago and 1.6 cents below what it was one year ago despite rising 21.3 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 15th time in 16 days, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.583. It has dropped 9.1 cents over the past 16 days, including 1 cent Tuesday.
The Orange County average price is 5.7 cents less than one week ago and 14.3 cents lower than one month ago, but 2.8 cents more than one year ago. It has increased 23.4 cents since the start of the year.
The lower prices are the result of “good supply in the market,” Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California told City News Service.
