LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the ninth consecutive day, decreasing 1.3 cents to $3.644.
The average price has dropped 5.6 cents over the past nine days, including 1.2 cents Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 5 cents less than one week ago and 14.2 cents less than one month ago, but 1 cent more than one year ago.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 10th time in 11 days, falling 1 cent to $3.617. It is 4.3 cents less than one week ago and 12 cents lower than one month ago, but 4.3 cents more than one year ago.
The Orange County average price has dropped 5.7 cents over the past 11 days, including 1.3 cents Thursday.
“Oil prices are down over the last month because of worries over the trade war with China and its economic effects,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager. “If Southern California gasoline supplies stay healthy, the lower oil prices are likely to push down pump prices further in the coming weeks.”
