You Can Now Have Pot in Prison if You Don't Ingest It

If you're a prisoner in California, you can now possess up to an ounce of marijuana, as long as you don't consume it.

This leads to most people asking...why? What's the point?

CNN reports that a California court "overturned the convictions" of five prisoners who were in possession of marijuana.

Presiding Justice Vance Raye wrote that the California penal code says that it is illegal to ingest marijuana in prison, but there are no laws on the actual possession of the drug.

The California court referenced Prop 64 which notes, "possession of less than an ounce of cannabis in prison is no longer a felony," but ingesting it still is.

Vicky Waters who is a spokeswoman for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation states, "We want to be clear that drug use and sales within state prisons remains prohibited".

Again, it all just seems very confusing.

Let's listen to Tim Conway Jr. talk about it below!
