LOS ANGELES (CNS) - One burglary suspect was arrested after a chase from Glendale that ended in a crash in the Silver Lake area, but three other suspects who ran from the vehicle earlier got away.
Officers responded to a burglary-in-progress call about 3:55 p.m. in the 200 block of West Kenneth Road, according to Glendale Police Department Sgt. Dan Suttles.
When they arrived, a neighbor reported seeing a group of people exit a neighbor's house, enter a vehicle and drive off, Suttles said.
A description of the vehicle was broadcast and another officer spotted it being driven south on the Golden State (5) Freeway and tried to pull it over, according to the sergeant.
The driver would not yield, but did stop near Los Feliz Boulevard to let the passengers -- a woman and two men -- out of the vehicle. They ran off and were not apprehended, Suttles said.
The woman continued driving and got on the southbound Glendale (2) Freeway and crashed into another vehicle after exiting onto northbound Glendale Boulevard near the end of the freeway, where she was taken into custody, Suttles said.
The crash sparked a small brush fire that was extinguished by firefighters.
The suspect was taken to a hospital to be examined and would later be booked on suspicion of burglary, Suttles said.
The woman who was driving the other vehicle involved in the collision complained of pain and was also taken to a hospital, Suttles said.
