LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 31st consecutive day, decreasing 1.5 cents to $3.881, its lowest amount since April 7.
The average price has decreased 23.9 cents over the past 31 days, including 1.1 cents on Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 7.4 cents less than one week ago and 23.9 cents lower than one month ago but 12.8 cents higher than one year ago.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 30th time in the past 31 days, decreasing 1.3 cents to $3.85, its lowest amount since April 7. It has decreased 24.6 cents over the past 31 days, including 1.4 cents on Thursday.
The Orange County average price is 7.6 cents less than one week ago and 24.6 cents lower than one month ago, but 14.1 cents higher than one year ago.
“Oil prices are dropping due to a surge in stockpiles and worries that worldwide demand will decline because of the trade dispute between the U.S. and China, and that is helping to drive down fuel prices around the country,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
