Uber is turning up ride quality by turning down the volume.
But only if you want them too...
You really just have to answer one question: Are you "happy to chat," or is "quiet preferred?"
Those are two of the options that will now be available in the preferences menu for all premium Uber rides.
Basically, the company is recognizing that people who pay extra for Uber Black and Uber Black SUV want their ride to be how they actually want their ride to be.
(Isn't it basically a flat rate taxi otherwise?)
According to USA Today, conversation amount isn't the only thing the ride-sharing company's preferences menu will allow you to control. The menu also allows you preselect options for "Help with Luggage," "Temperature Control," "Extended Pickup Period," and more.
