LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose one-tenth of a cent today for the second consecutive day.
The average price has increased seven of the past eight days to $4.125, its highest amount since July 29, 2015, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has increased 4.7 cents over the past eight days.
The average price is 4.6 cents more than one week ago, 45.7 cents higher than one month ago and 45.9 cents greater than one year ago.
The Orange County average price also rose for the seventh time in eight days, increasing a half-cent to $4.102, its highest amount since July 29, 2015.
The Orange County average price has increased 5.4 cents over the past eight days, including four-tenths of a cent on Monday. It is 5.2 cents more than one week ago, 48 cents higher than one month ago and 47.5 cents greater than one year ago.
The higher prices are the result of a series of refinery issues that have reduced supply, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
