***WARNING - VIDEO MAY BE DISTURBING***

The Napa County Sheriff's Department has released body cam video of a police shooting that occurred over the weekend.

Napa County sheriff’s Deputy Riley Jarecki was patrolling the southern section of Napa County by herself on Sunday when she stopped to do a vehicle check on a red Honda.

That vehicle was being operated by 43-year-old Javier Hernandez Morales.

Jarecki approached the vehicle from the passenger side, pointed her flashlight at the driver, and begin questioning him.

After talking to him for a bit, she went around the back of the vehicle and approached the driver-side door.

Jarecki ordered Hernandez Morales to roll down the window.

While following this order, the video shows Hernandez Morales pull out a .22-caliber revolver and shoot at Jarecki.

Jarecki backed away from the car, called in the shooting, and proceeded to fire 15 rounds into the car.

Hernandez Morales was declared dead at the scene.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Hernandez Morales had been arrested at least five times before for such things as possession of a concealed and loaded firearm, assault on a peace officer, and driving under the influence. He also had multiple warrants out for his arrest.
