Suspect Seen Punching Two Young Women in DTLA Turns Himself In To Police

A suspect who was caught on video punching two young women near a hot dog stand in downtown Los Angeles over the weekend has turned himself into police.

The suspect was identified by the Los Angeles Police Department as Arka Sangbariani Oroojian, 30, of Sylmar. Oroojian turned himself in to the LAPD Tuesday night around 9:30 p.m. the department said.

Oroojian was described by police as being 6'3" tall and weighing 270 pounds. Police posted the video on the LAPD Twitter page and asked for the public's help in finding the man with the message, “This guy brutally punched two women at a hotdog stand on Jan. 26 in the area of 6th & Spring. Someone knows him and we would like to be one of those people.”

The department posted an update Wednesday morning saying the suspect had surrended to police at the LAPD Central Station where he was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. Orrojian's bail was set at $90,000.

"UPDATE: Arka Sangbarani Oroojian turned himself into police last night at LAPD Central Station and was booked for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. His bail has been set at $90,000. We thank the community for their help in spreading the message," the department tweeted .
