COMPTON (CNS) - A man was killed and two others were wounded early this afternoon in a shooting outside of a church in Compton where a funeral was taking place. The gunfire was reported about 1:10 p.m. in the 1900 block of East Compton Boulevard, according to Deputy Morgan Arteaga of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Information Bureau.
Witnesses told reporters at the scene the shooting occurred during a fight among family members outside the New Holy Trinity Baptist Church at 1919 East Compton Boulevard, near Holly Avenue.
A man was pronounced dead at the scene, Arteaga said.
Detectives from the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau were dispatched to the scene.
