Fried Food Extra Harmful For Post-Menopausal Women

You know, I've found that fried chicken is one of life's great consolations.  But what would happen if that great Colonel in the sky somehow decided to taketh away what it had previously and so graciously given?

Well that could very well be a case for post-menopausal women.  A new study has linked fried chicken to a higher risk of death, particularly among ladies who are post-menopausal.

We all know that fried chicken isn't the healthiest of delicacies, even when eaten in moderation. So how much worse is "the golden goodness" (ie fried chicken) for post-menopausal ladies?

The study found women who ate one serving of fried chicken had a 13% higher risk of death than women who did not eat any fried foods.

Even worse, it's not JUST fried chicken that increases the risk of death. Fried seafood also carries an increased risk - albeit at a somewhat "better" 7% higher risk.

Researchers say much is still unknown about the long-term health effects of eating fried foods, but other studies have linked them to Type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
