Vegan Diets Are Leading To Malnutrition In Wealthy Countries

While going vegan may be good for the planet, it might not always be good for your body if you don't plan correctly. 

According to a recent paper, the rise of people switching to vegetarian and vegan diets has lead to an increase in wealthy countries reporting more malnutrition among the population. 

Lower levels of certain vitamins and minerals have been found in those who follow a plant-based diet, as well as higher fracture rates. 

A group of biologists writing for The Conversation suggests vegans add fortified foods and supplements to their diets to replace the missing micronutrients.
