LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 50th consecutive day, decreasing 1.1 cents to $3.449, its lowest amount since March 11.
The average price has dropped 42.8 cents over the past 50 days, including 1.3 cents on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 7 cents less than one week ago and 28.2 cents lower than one month ago, but 30 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 29.9 cents since the start of the year.
The streak of decreases is the longest since a 92-day run from Oct. 2, 2014-Jan. 1, 2015.
The Orange County average price dropped today for the 21st consecutive day and 48th time in the past 49 days, decreasing 1.4 cents to $3.388, its lowest amount since March 6. It has dropped 43.5 cents over the past 49 days, including 1.2 cents on Tuesday.
The Orange County average price is 8.2 cents less than one week ago and 29.1 cents lower than one month ago, but 29.4 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 27.2 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price dropped for 27 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Nov. 21, then resumed declining the following day.
