LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 48th consecutive day, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.473, its lowest amount since March 15.
The average price has dropped 40.4 cents over the past 48 days, including 1 cent Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 7.3 cents less than one week ago and 27.2 cents lower than one month ago, but 31.1 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 32.3 cents since the start of the year.
The streak of decreases is the longest since a 92-day run from Oct. 2, 2014-Jan. 1, 2015.
The Orange County average price dropped today for the 19th consecutive day and 46th time in the past 47 days, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.414, its lowest amount since March 10. It has dropped 40.9 cents over the past 47 days, including nine-tenths of a cent Sunday.
The Orange County average price is 8.3 cents less than one week ago and 27.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 31 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 29.8 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price dropped for 27 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Nov. 21, then resumed declining the following day.
