Southland Average Gas Prices Drop to Lowest Amount Since March

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 42nd consecutive day, decreasing 1.2 cents to $3.534, its lowest amount since March 23.

The average price has dropped 34.3 cents over the past 42 days, including 1 cent on Sunday and Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 9 cents less than one week ago and 26.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 33.9 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 38.4 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 40th time in 41 days today, decreasing 1.8 cents to $3.479, its lowest amount since March 21. It has dropped by 34.4 cents over the past 41 days, including six-tenths of a cent on Monday.

The Orange County average price is 9.3 cents less than one week ago and 26.5 cents lower than one month ago, but 34 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 36.3 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped for 27 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Nov. 21, then resumed declining the following day.
