Southland Average Gas Prices Drop to Lowest Amount Since March

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 41st consecutive day, decreasing 1 cent to $3.546, its lowest amount since March 26.

The average price has dropped 33.1 cents over the past 41 days, including 1 cent on Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 8.9 cents less than one week ago and 26 cents lower than one month ago, but 34.5 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 39.6 cents since the start of the year.

The streak of decreases is the longest since a 42-day run from July 6- Aug. 16, 2016.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 39th time in 40 days today, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.497, its lowest amount since March 24. It has dropped by 32.6 cents over the past 40 days, including nine-tenths of a cent on Sunday.

The Orange County average price is 8.6 cents less than one week ago and 25.1 cents lower than one month ago, but 35.3 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 38.1 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped for 27 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Nov. 21, then resumed declining the following day.
