RIVERSIDE (CNS) - Seven patrons of a Riverside nightclub were injured in a shooting today and one of them was in critical condition, authorities said.
It happened around midnight at the Sevilla Nightclub at 3252 Mission Inn Ave., Riverside police said.
Arriving officers found two victims with gunshot wounds who were taken to hospitals for treatment, police said. Another five people showed up at hospitals for treatment of what police termed “gunshot injuries” suffered at the nightclub.
One of the two gunshot victims transported from the scene was in critical condition, Riverside Fire Department Battalion Chief Tony Perna said. The people who showed up at hospitals were injured “due to the size and amount of people in the area,” he said.
“None of the injuries are considered life-threatening,” Riverside police Officer Ryan Railsback said. “Detectives from our Gang Unit are following up on leads to identify the suspects.”
Authorities urged anyone with information about the shooting to call Det. Trevor Childers at (951) 353-7130, Det. Karla Corbett at (951) 353-7134 or submit anonymous tips by emailing rpdtips@riversideca.gov.
