Streak of Rising Gas Prices in Los Angeles County Ends at 23 Days

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A 23-day streak of increases that pushed the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County to its highest amount since Aug. 6, 2015, ended today with a decrease of two-tenths of a cent to $3.883.

The average price increased 21.7 cents during the streak, including four-tenths of a cent on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The streak was the longest since a 28-day streak from March 6-April 2.

The average price is 2.5 cents more than one week ago, 21.5 cents higher than one month ago and 81.5 cents greater than one year ago. It has risen 73.3 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price was unchanged for the second consecutive day, remaining at $3.836, following a 21-day streak of increases totaling 22.5 cents. It is 1.9 cents more than one week ago, 22.4 cents higher than one month ago and 81.1 cents greater than one year ago. It has risen 72 cents since the start of the year.
