The gentleman pictured above winking at you was arrested in 2015 and charged with eight felony counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14.
David Michael Bruce, 68, was a former drama teacher at Sycamore Junior High School in Anaheim where he allegedly molested multiple male students at the school beginning in 1996.
After his arrest, Bruce was quickly released on $100,000 bail. He had an upcoming court appearance on the 11th day of his molestation trial but did not make it because he.. well, he killed himself. His body was found by some friends at his home in Anaheim.
Bruce faced a possible life sentence if convicted, but the county district attorney's office dismissed the case because of his death. Obviously.
According to prosecutors, Bruce lured his students by claiming he had Hollywood connections and could help the students get movie industry jobs. Bruce then took the kids to his house or tapings at LA studios where he would offer up massages, but quickly moved on to "rubbing, touching and spanking the buttocks" of the victims.
Bruce's attorney, Sal Ciulla, had the audacity to argue that the boys were either fantasizing or were lying and hoped to cash in on lawsuits.
