Add Hungry Man Dinners To the List of Foods Being Recalled

Another company has had to recall one of their products due to concerns over Salmonella. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a public health alert Friday over concerns of that a Hungry-Man frozen meal product being contaminated with Salmonella from whey powder that has already been previously recalled by the ingredient's producer.

The FSIS says the Hungry-Man microwavable dinners that have been removed from store shelves are the 15.25-oz. "Chipotle BBQ Sauced Boneless Chicken Wyngz" with a "best buy" date of 9/16/19. The meals, produced by Pinnacle Foods, Inc., were voluntarily recalled by the company after they were notified by their supplier that the recalled whey powder was present in the ranch dressing seasoning used in the meal. Seasoning was added to mashed potatoes and were also packaged with the boneless chicken dinner.

You can tell if you have the recalled product in your fridge by checking the product label. It will have an establishment number of either "EST. P138" or "P-138" on the side of the carton.

The FSIS says if you have the recalled meals in your freezer, you should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.

Officials say more recalls may be coming. We've already seen several recalls because of the tainted whey power in products like Honey Smacks, Ritz Crackers, Goldfish Crackers, and even Taco Bell Cheese Dip

The USDA says consumers should be on the alert, "Additional FSIS-regulated products containing the recalled whey powder may be added to this public health alert as more information becomes available."
