Californians are being asked to conserve electricity this week. California's Independent System Operator has issued a "Flex Alert" for tomorrow and Wednesday. Everyone is asked to voluntarily conserve as much energy as possible, especially between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Officials suggest setting air conditions to 78-degrees or higher and turning off all unnecessary lights. They say it's also best to operate major appliances in the morning or at night during a Flex Alert.
