Streaks of Southland Dropping Gas Prices End

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A 10-day streak of decreases to the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County ended today when it was unchanged, remaining at $3.641.

The average price dropped 3.5 cents during the streak, including three- tenths of a cent on Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 2.4 cents less than one week ago and 4.4 cents lower than one month ago but 72.6 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 49.1 cents since the start of the year.

A run of nine decreases in 10 days to the Orange County average price ended today when it was unchanged, remaining at $3.583. It dropped 3.3 cents during the run, including two-tenths of a cent on Sunday.

The Orange County average price is 2.4 cents less than one week ago and 5.4 cents lower than one month ago but 69.8 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 46.7 cents since the start of the year.
