LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped one-tenth of a cent today to $3.671, one day after rising one-tenth of a cent.

The average price is four-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, 8.7 cents less than one month ago and 74.4 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has risen 52.1 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price rose one-tenth of a cent for the second consecutive day to $3.616. It is unchanged from one week ago, 10 cents lower than one month ago and 72 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 50 cents since the start of the year.

``Wholesale gas prices moved back up last week on concerns about inventory, which kept pump price changes at a minimum,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
